Classwork

Found answers to the detail questions from last night's homework.
Did a speedreading drill with "Earth-Friendly Transportation" from More Reading Power, pgs. 239-240.

Previewed. Compared the information to "Getting Around in Green Style" to identify new or different information. (20 seconds)
Read for good comprehension. (Students timed themselves individually.)
Recorded reading speed using the chart on pg. 188.
Scanned the questions for key words.
Scanned the article for the answers. (3 minutes)
Recorded comprehension score on the chart.

Homework

Write notes for "Getting Around in Green Style." You do NOT have to type them. Use section titles for organization. Include main ideas AND details.

Updated Late Policy

This policy replaces the confusing policy outlined in your syllabus. The updated policy will apply to all assignments for the second half of the semester.

1. If you are absent, you are responsible for any classwork, homework, quizzes and/or tests that you missed. I will not ask you for the work. I will simply post the assignments online daily. It is your job to consult this log or a classmate.

2. If I returned or handed out any papers in class, I will place them in my box in 103. You can then pick them up Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

3. Any homework can be made up within a week. You will lose 10% for each business day that it is late. The only exceptions are for doctors' notes and extreme emergencies.

4. If you miss a quiz or test, you should reschedule with me face-to-face or in a comment on the relevant posting. You should make-up the exam within one day of your return. Every day after that, you will lose one participation point.

5. If you make up classwork, you will regain your participation points.

6. If you make up homework, you will regain your homework points.
